Terms of Service
Last updated: July 18, 2026
These terms govern your use of DeLand One, a local information platform for DeLand, Florida, operated by Ember Development Studios, LLC. By using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use DeLand One.
1. Using DeLand One
Browsing is free and requires no account. An account is needed to follow, save, RSVP, check in, access tickets, or create a networking card. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity under your account.
2. Local information is provided for convenience
Events, business listings, hours, news, civic updates, and public notices are gathered from organizers, businesses, official sources, and public feeds. We work to keep them accurate and current, but we do not guarantee that any listing, time, location, or status is correct or up to date. Confirm important details with the organizer, business, or issuing authority before relying on them.
3. Public notices and civic content
Public notices, meeting agendas, and civic records shown here are informational copies. The official document published by the issuing authority is the governing version, and we link to it on every notice. Where we show a plain-language headline, the official title is preserved on the notice’s detail page. Nothing in DeLand One constitutes legal notice, and nothing here is legal advice.
4. Emergencies
DeLand One is not an emergency service and does not replace official emergency alerting. Do not rely on it for emergency warnings. In an emergency, call 911 and follow instructions from official authorities.
5. Events, RSVPs, and tickets
Events are run by their organizers, not by DeLand One. An RSVP or registration creates a relationship between you and that organizer, who sets admission, capacity, pricing, refunds, and cancellations. We are not responsible for an event being changed, cancelled, or different from its listing. Where an event is ticketed by a third party, that provider’s terms apply.
6. Your content and conduct
You keep ownership of what you submit — profile details, networking-card fields, claim requests, and reports. You grant us permission to display that content within the app as needed to provide the service. You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, misleading, infringing, or harassing; not to impersonate another person or organization; not to claim a business or organization you are not authorized to represent; and not to scrape or bulk-extract the platform.
7. Claiming a business or organization profile
Claiming a profile requires verification appropriate to the entity. Approved owners and administrators may manage their profile’s information, and that owner-supplied data takes precedence over imported data, subject to review. We may decline, revoke, or reassign a claim where authorization cannot be established or is disputed.
8. Moderation
We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend accounts that violate these terms or that put residents at risk. You can report incorrect or inappropriate content from within the app, and reports enter a review queue.
9. Our intellectual property
The DeLand One name, design, and software are owned by Ember Development Studios, LLC. Third-party content — news articles, official documents, business information, and photography — remains the property of its owners and is used with attribution and a link to the original.
10. Availability
We provide DeLand One on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, and features may change or be discontinued.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ember Development Studios, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of DeLand One, including reliance on listing information, attending an event, or visiting a place found through the app.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date and surfaced in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Volusia County, Florida.
